Our standards in Houseware reflect a world based sourcing methodology necessary to bring you products we believe in. Here’s what we consider when stocking the Marketplace with Houseware items:
Goods Eggs only works with brands that will sign our labor documentation. Good Eggs prioritizes working with brands that:
- Use practices that promote environmental sustainability
- Products utilize natural fibers and post consumer recycled content, and are recyclable, or is plastic neutral
- Conserve water usage and utilize renewable energy in production or processing
- Use packaging made from highest percentage post-consumer waste available, and is biodegradable or curbside-recyclable
- Pay their employees a living wage for the area of production
- Are local to the Bay Area and California, and use local or domestically sourced ingredients
- Are certified B-Corp, are incorporated as Public Benefit Corporations, or have employee ownership or cooperative ownership structures
- Contientions sourcing of materials that if not natural or recyclable, help change the environment by reducing single use options, and maximize product life span through durability and component replaceability
- Undertake programs that give back to domestic communities, or the community where products are manufactured
- Transparency in manufacturing partners. Brands based in US with production abroad are open and transparent in souring raw materials and manufactured goods
- Have certifications like:
- Global Recycled Standard,
- Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS)
- USDA Certified Biobased Products
